More than 5 weeks into no movie releases in the Tamil and the theatres and audience are being given a plethora of choices in other language films. This week while Sudani from Nigeria and S Durga finally made it to theatres in Chennai, new releases include international films like Peter Rabbit and A Quiet Place along with domestic movies namely Irrfan Khan starrer Blackmail, Mammootty's Parole and Niithin's Chal Mohan Ranga.
Peter Rabbit (English)
An animation film based on the famous children's book, Peter Rabbit can serve as your animation fix this weekend. Actor/ Stand-up comedian James Corden as the voice of Peter Rabbit seems to have hit the right chord with its target audience i.e. children, who are currently on their vacations for the summer.

Parole (Malayalam) Movie Page Here
Much like this weekend's other release Blackmail, Mammootty's presence in Parole seems to be the only saving grace for this thriller drama. So in case you are a Mammootty fan, do not miss this latest film of his at a theatre near you.
A Quiet Place (English)
Despite the genre, theme and even the posters being strikingly similar to 2016's Don't Breathe (a Tamil inspiration of which will release as Mercury on April 13th), this Emily Blunt starrer horror movie has garnered a unanimous positive review from critics all over. The audience seem to be agreeing too, for the movie's ticket sales seem to be at par with its domestic competitors this weekend.
[Also leaves one wondering if it would be wise of Karthik Subbaraj to release his movie the coming week, given the similarities they share.]
Sudani From Nigeria (Malayalam) Review Here
This super-hit Malayalam movie finally has graced the theatres of Chennai and seems to be receiving a heart-warming response here as well. The movie stands tall in our MC Ratings with an aggregate of 66%.
Chal Mohan Ranga (Telugu) Movie Page Here
Telugu actor Nithiin's 25th movie Chal Mohan Ranga is a love story themed with picturesque destinations. If you are looking for a time-pass film, then Chal Mohan Ranga would be the right pick for you.
S Durga (Malayalam)
Sanal Sasidharan's most notorious film, finally got a pass to release in movie theatres with its current title and critics agree that S Durga is not for the faint hearted. This 1.5 hour timed movie is generically a thriller and would serve as the right spruce, if you are looking for something out of ordinary this weekend.
