The much-awaited biopic based on the life of Shiv Sena supremo, late Bal Thackeray is all set to go on floors from March 25. The film was announced in December 2017, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role as Bal Thackeray. The release of the film has been scheduled on Bal Thackery’s 93rd birth anniversary, dated 23 January 2019.

Directed by Abhijit Panse, the Hindi-Marathi bilingual will also be dubbed in English. The film will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule from March end to June end. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has already begun the prep to get into the skin of Balasaheb Thackeray. Nawaz will be seen in several looks as he ages from a young and enthusiastic Marathi ethnocentric cartoonist to the politician who changed the way Mumbaikars see their city.
