Padmaavat Tamil Trailer, 6 State Ban & other developments on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus

Actor Ranveer Singh unveiled the Tamil trailer of his upcoming film with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat. Also starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Kaatru Veliyidai actress Aditi Rao Hydari, the film has been certified an U/ A and hits theatre screens on January 25, 2018

Despite a full-page news-paper ad that the film is a work of fiction and that it does not have and never had a dream sequence between Khilji (played by Ranveer Singh) and Padmavati (played by Deepika Padukone), Padmaavat currently faces a release ban from 6 North Indian states owing to the hue and cry surrounding the movie's historical accuracy. The producers moved Supreme court earlier today to allow the release of their film in Haryana, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.

Added to this, Paramount Pictures which has earlier suggested a huge international release for
Padmaavat has now confirmed that it will handle the film's release only in U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East but not in U.S. or Canada. Viacom18 Motion Pictures is presenting the film in India in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
