Amma Kanakku director to team up Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor
Amma Kanakku director Ashwini Iyer who has done films like Nil Battey Sannata (Original version of Amma Kanakku) and Bareily Ki Barfi in Bollywood, was last in the news for trying to sign on Alia Bhatt for her next film, after she dropped out of directing a film titled Manmarziyaan. Now, according to our inside sources, the Tamil descent director is planning on roping in Anil Kapoor as well for the said project.
Ashwini Iyer is known for coming up with unconventional scripts for her films and the idea of Alia and Anil Kapoor in a film seems suggestive of a whole new experience altogether. While Anil Kapoor was last seen playing a pivotal role alongside nephew Arjun Kapoor in Mubarakan, Alia already has Bhrahmastra with director Ayan Mukherjee and Gully Boy with Zoya Akthar in the pipeline.
