Dhanush to begin shooting for Maari 2

Director Balaji Mohan who delivered a hit with Maari had revealed earlier this year that he has finalized a script for the sequel to the film. Titled Maari 2, it was said that the movie will have Dhanush reprising his role of the titular character and actors Robo Shankar and Vinod reprising the role of his side-kicks. The news was even confirmed by the lead actor who shared a picture of the final script on his social media page. Latest news on the project is that the shooting will commence from September, 2017 with an official announcement awaited on the rest of the cast and crew. 

While the earlier film Maari was a joint production of Listin Stephen, Magic Frames and Wunderbar Films, it has not known yet as to who would bankroll Maari 2. On the professional front Dhanush is awaiting the release of VIP 2, Ennai Noki Payyum Thota and Vada Chennai while Balaji Mohan is basking in the glory of his digital series As I'm suffering from Kaadhal.
