Aamir Khan wants 'Dangal' to be tax free

Dangal is Aamir Khan’s next which surrounds the true story of wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters. Aamir Khan is apparently wanting the film to get a tax exemption.

“I believe it’s a film which has the parameters of getting a tax exemption. So I think it falls under that category. But that’s not for me to decide. Ultimately, it is for the state governments in each state to decide that. But we will be applying for tax exemption and we are going to try for it before the release. But it’s a process, it may happen or it may not happen. I can’t predict how long will it take,” said Khan to Indian Express.

Aamir Khan also expressed that he would like the film to be awarded a U certificate, “I think it’s a universal film and our film is a family film. It’s about children and for them. So it’s a film for families. And according to us, it will be a U film”.

Dangal also features Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Zaira Wasim in key roles. The movie is slated to release on December 23.

The flick is based on the real-life story of Haryana-based wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trained his daughters Geeta and Babita to become wrestlers.
