Music Review :: Rockstar by AR Rahman

AR Rahman is blazing a trail with his new movie music album "Rockstar". Ranbir Kapoor plays the lead role in this movie directed by Imtiaz Ali, who is known in Tamil Industry as the story writer of "Kanden Kadhalai".

Rockstar is a movie about Jordan, the troubled protagonist, who can express himself only through music. Sadda Haq, Aithay Rakh (It’s our right, keep it here) video showing Jordan's outburst of emotions is already a rage all over India.

'Aur Ho'  is simply outstanding and evokes a range of emotions. 'Jo Bhi Main' and 'Sadda Haq' are rock anthems, with the former evoking the live concert feel and the latter is a piece of art. Orinathi, a former Michael Jackson guitarist simply rocks this song. ARR takes on the vocals in 'Nadaan Parindey' and stuns you. 'Tango for Taj' and 'Dichotomy of Fame' are one of those complex layered work that can only grow on you after multiple listens. With 'Kun Faya Kun', he stirs your soul.  AR Rahman has broken new grounds and has experimented a lot in this album. Rockstar is one of the most versatile albums of AR Rahman.

Moviecrow picks - Sadda Haq, Aur Ho, Nadaan Parindey, Kun Faya Kun and Jo Bhi Mein

Bottomline - A.R.Rahman raises the bar yet again, for current and future generation of music directors.
