Brother's Fate, Will it be great?

'Brothers' stars Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles and is definitely one of the most anticipated movies of 2015. It releases this Friday on the 14th of August i.e. on the eve of Independence Day!

What’s It About? (Plot)

The film is highly inspired by the Hollywood flick Warrior and is sort of a Hindi remake of the same movie. Two estranged, street-fighting brothers (Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra) square off against each other in a mixed martial arts tournament and come face to face in their fight for love, hatred and family.

Who’s The Star? (Cast)

Akshay Kumar:

This is Akshay’s third movie of the year and looks set to score big bucks at the Box-Office with this one. He plays the role of David Fernandes, a physics teacher/wrestler/brother and will have a great opportunity to do justice with his acting talent.

Sidharth Malhotra:

Sidharth sheds his lover boy image for this one and looks set to play the rough and tough wrestler Monty Fernandes who fights not only on the outside but also on the inside because of his disturbed emotions. He too has a got a great chance to show the Bollywood audience some of his performing skills.

The rest of the cast includes Jacqueline Fernandes, who plays Akki’s wife in the movie, Jackie Shroff who plays an irresponsible father of Akshay and Sid, Shefali Shah who plays the mother. The cast also include veteran actor Ashutosh Rana in the role of David’s coach.

Who Are The People Behind? (Crew)

Karan Malhotra who directed the remake of Agneepath starring Hrithik Roshan is the man behind this movie. It’s a big project for him and from the promos the film looks of substance. Also, to lend him support in the hand of Karan Johar as the producer. It would be interesting to see how well they deal with the Tom Hardy starrer and adapt it in the Hindi version.

Will I Get To Groove? (Music)

The soundtrack of the film is definitely not one of the greatest but it’s not that bad either. The theme music and official anthem does bring about a few goosebumps and might just get stuck in your head when you walk out of the theaters.

What’s New? What’s Different?

Bollywood has not seen many movies on wrestling and Brothers might just be a welcome change in this genre. Also, we will see Sidharth Malhotra’s ruthless side for the first time.
