The GOAT release date foreshadowed in Nanban, Vijay fans amused!

It is not everyday that a decade and a half old movie foreshadows the importance of a particular date, let along two films. But that is exactly what 3 Idiots (2009), and its Tamil remake Nanban (2012) have done for star actor Vijay, and his upcoming movie The Greatest of All Time aka The GOAT

3 Idiots, the Aamir Khan starrer Hindi language blockbuster was based on Chetan Bhagat's debut novel Five Point Someone (2004). 3 Idiots director Rajkumar Hirani and screenplay writer Abhijat Joshi rewrote the character of 'Venkat' from the book as the iconic Chatur Ramalingam, played memorably by Omi Vaidya.

3 Idiots Rooftop Scene

The famous rooftop scene from 3 Idiots has a 'wronged' Chatur carve September 5 in a drunken stupor. The Tamil version of 3 Idiots titled Nanban, retained this scene and date as is, and had 'Srivatsan' Sathyan carve the same date in front of Nanban's lead actor Vijay.

12 years later, Vijay fans are amused that this scene from Nanban foreshadowed the release date of Vijay's penultimate movie The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT). A sci-f- action thriller written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT is Vijay's second last film before the actor makes his official debut into politics.
