Chupan Chupai - An unofficial Pakistani remake of Soodhu Kavvum?

Pakistani films usually don't create a huge buzz in India. However, that's not the case with Chupan Chupai, a Hindi film from Pakistan. The movie's trailer has striking resemblances to Nalan Kumaraswamy's cult black comedy Soodhu Kavvum. A quick check on the internet also confirmed the same.

When we contacted Soodhu Kavvum's producer CV Kumar for the confirmation, he informed us that Chupan Chupai team had indeed requested for Soodhu Kavvum's remake rights a year ago. However, since the Hindi and Urdu remake rights of Soodhu Kavvum were already sold to Arun Pandian in 2013, the offer had to be rejected. We'll have to wait and watch if Chupani Chupai is a complete rip-off of Soodhu Kavvum or just has some similarities.
