MovieCrow Chennai City Box Office Report - August 18 to 20

There weren't any new Tamil releases on Aug 18, as it's just a week prior to the big Vivegam storm on Aug 24. But Annabelle: Creation (with a Tamil dubbed version too) stole the thunder from last week's VIP2 and took the top spot at the Chennai city weekend box-office. The Top5 at the CBO this past weekend and their total Chennai city gross are as follows,

Podhuvaga Emmanasu Thangam falls out of the Top 5 and comes 6th. After 10 days, it has grossed 1.32 CR in Chennai city and gets a Below Average verdict. Meanwhile. Vivegam's advance bookings are on a different league altogether and the film is sure to take an earth shattering opening over its 4-day weekend.
