Movies This Week - A Summary

Madhavan - Vijay Sethupathi starrer Vikram Vedha opened with a bang gaining a lot of positive reviews from both the critics and the audience. The familiar Vikramadityan - Vedhalam narration structure and the stong technicality of the film makes it all the more a must-watch. The light hearted Meesaya Murukku by Hiphop Tamizha aka Aadhi may not be that intellectual in comparison but the film seems to be made keeping the younger audience in mind. Fans have been thronging to the cinema halls to watch both these films with Vikram Vedha having a slightly higher edge. 

Sai Pallavi's debut in Telugu, Fidaa has been loading praises in heaps for her. The movie which is a refreshing love story is being lauded for the performances by both the the lead actors. While Tiger Shroff's Munna Michael has turned out to be average, Prakash Jhah's production venture Lipstick under my Burkha is said to have rekindled the whole sense of feminisim, after winning loads of accolades at various film festivals. 

In Malayalam, while Sreesanth's debut film Team 5 and Basheerinte Premalekhanam failed to impress the crowd, Surabhi Lakshmi starrer Minnamingu - The Firefly pulled up an impressive performance by the lead actress and seemed to be above average film.
