Non Bailable Warrant against 8 actors gets Madras High Court interim

Days after a magistrate court in Ooty issued Non-bailable arrest warrants against eight prominent film personalities namely SuriyaSathyarajVivekVijay KumarArun VijaySri Priya and director Cheran over failure to appear before court in connection with the defamation case (read about it here), it has now been confirmed that the order will not be executed.

After the order was issued, the eight actors moved court at Udhagamandalam, asking for a recall of warrants. Following this, the actors' recall petition was moved yet again at Madras High Court and an interim was passed against the non-bailable warrant thus quashing its execution. This news comes as a sigh of relief for fans of the actors involved, especially Suriya whose die-hard fan-following was enraged at the judgement and had hastagged I Support Suriya verse on all social media platforms. Most of these accounts had a common display picture to show their support for the actor.
