Is Rajamouli's next going to be a story on King Shivaji?

After directing the Baahubali series which is possibly one of the best movies made in the history of Indian cinema, S.S. Rajamouli will be starting on a new project post a 3 month vacation. While rumours were rife that the director was eyeing the adaptation of the Hindu epic Mahabharata with Rajinkanth, Mohanlal and Aamir Khan for the cast, latest news confirm that the idea may have been dropped owing to several production houses already locking on the story (Malayalam star Mohanlal's Randamoozham for example).

While industry sources believe that the Rajamouli's next will be funded by Telugu producer D.V.V. Danayya, speculations are rife that the script would be based on Indian warrior Veera Sivaji. Though there is no official word on the same, reports suggest that the real life battle of this well known King has interested Rajamouli at several instances. However, in a lot of his recent interactions Rajamouli has categorically indicated that he would want to work in a film which did not involve graphics like Baahubali or his earlier venture E (Eega in Telugu and Makhkhi in Hindi). So would the story of Veera Sivaji be adapted by Rajamouli is something we would have to wait and watch.
