Vijay Sethupathi is not a part of Vada Chennai and here's why

Vada Chennai, which is touted to part 1 of a gangster trilogy has been under constant scrutiny for the casting of actor Vijay Sethupathi in it. Reports about the actor walking out from the film had been doing the rounds ever since the progress in shooting of the film saw a lull. As there was no official word on the same, Vijay Sethupathi's role (which was termed by the makers as an extended cameo) had become a topic of endless discussion.

Now putting all the speculations to rest, the actor has confirmed that he is no longer a part of this film, which is a production venture of Dhanush. Clarifying that he has opted out on good terms with the producer and the director (Vetrimaaran), the actor has cited date issues and the delay in film's shooting as reasons. Vada Chennai also has Amala Paul, Andreah Jeremaiah and actor-director Samuthirakani playing prominent roles in it.
