Vijay Sethupathi's Mellisai Titled Puriyaadha Pudhir

Revival of the classics is something that has always been in trend in Kollywood and the latest to get hit by that bug is the Vijay Sethupathistarrer Mellisai. Directed by Ranjith Jeyakodi this upcoming thriller entertainer has been rechristened as Puriyaadha Pudhir. The film which has Gayathrie (of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom fame) as the female lead, was due to be released a long time ago but kept getting delayed for a number of reasons. Speaking on the title change, distributor of the movie JSK Sathish was quoted saying that the team had considered the titles Moodupani and Netrikkan before zeroing in on Puriyaadha Pudhir. He also said that the title Mellisai was taking away from the mystery, which is the key element of the movie's plot. 

Produced by Deepan Boopathy and Rathesh Velu of Rebel Studios, the movie has Sam C.S. for the musical scores. Dinesh Krishnan who has earlier worked with the leas actor in Sethupathi, Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum (Ka Ka Ka Po) and Rekka is the cinematographer of Puriyadha Pudhir.
