Father-son duo S.S. Rajamouli and K.V. Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame had a lot of hit films to their credit prior to their wordwide success. One of them was the 2006 Telugu film Vikramarkudu whicj was remade in 2011 as Siruthai in Tamil and in 2012 as Rowdy Rathore in Hindi. The Hindi version was produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and costume designer turned producer Shabina Khan (worked as a costume designer for Suriya starrer 7am Arivu) who are coming together again for a sequel. Apparently, writer K.V. Vijendra Prasad has completed the script for a sequel and it is currently awaiting an approval from Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
While Rowdy Rathore originally had Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead and was directed by Prabhu Deva, it is to be seen if the same cast and crew will be repeated or the producers will go in for a new team altogether. It was said that Rowdy Rathore managed to collect Rs. 200 crore + at the box-office while it was made at a budget of Rs. 45 crore +.
