Kaaliyan is the title of Prithviraj's upcoming magnum opus film. Prithviraj plays the titular role of an epic warrior who is made famous by ballads of Venad.
Kaaliyan will also have Tamil actor Satyaraj in a prominent role. This will also be Satyaraj's next after the super successful Baahubali series.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will be scoring the music. Cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev, sound designer Shajith Koyeri, are also part of the film, which will be directed by S. Mahesh. Filmmaker B T Anil Kumar has written the epic drama based on the ballads for the big screen. Rajeev Nair of Magic Moon Productions is bankrolling the project.
