The first look of star actor Mohanlal, who plays the role of Ithikkarapakki in Nivin Pauly starrer Kayamkulam Kochunni has been doing the rounds on the internet. Speaking earlier about Lalettan's character and role, director Roshan Andrews had quoted, "He will be playing the role of Ithikkara Pakki, whose importance cannot be understated when we are narrating the story of Kayamkulam Kochunni. Pakki was the first legendary Robin Hood of Kerala and he and Kochunni were contemporaries, so Lalettan has a major role in the movie."
Kayamkulam Kochunni has Priya Anand playing female lead and is a period drama based on a real life man of the same name who lead a Robin Hood-esque life in the 19th century. The movie is scripted by National Award winning duo Bobby and Sanjay who have worked with the director in films like Notebook, Casanovva, 36 Vayadhinile and School Bus.
