Deepika Padukone gears up for a ghoomar!

Deepika Padukone will be performing ‘ghoomar’, a Rajasthani dance style in the periodic drama Padmavati. Deepika is all set to prepare for the traditional dance. She will be playing the lead role of Rani Padmavati of Chittorgarh. A huge set has been put up at Mehboob studio which replicates the water palace of Chittorgarh fort.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the song sequence will see Padukone in typical Rajasthani attire, with a dance style reflecting that. “Folk dancers from Rajasthan will be flown in for the song. They will be seen alongside Deepika as well as train her. The set at Mehboob studio, where the song will be shot, is almost ready.”

The cast of ‘Padmavati’ is yet to be officially announced. Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor are reportedly set to play the male lead stars. The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
