Top 10 Villans of Bollywood - 2015

Great heroes are made by great villains! 2015 saw some incredible performances by actors in a negative role. It was a delight to see the actors not taking up a commercial villainous role in a typical Bollywood Masala but experiment with different/new shades of dark. Here’s the list of top ten villains of the year:

1. Tanvi Azmi - Bajirao Mastani

The best act in a negative role for the year surely goes to Tanvi Azmi as Radhabai,Bajirao’s bald, widowed, ambitious and domineering mother. With great detailing she creates such an aura onscreen, that one can’t take his eyes of her!

2. Nawazuddin Siddiqui – Badlapur

Nawazuddin Siddiqui stands out as Layak and makes you hate him so much that you couldn’t hate him anymore in the end. His haunting eyes despite his innocent talk are a treat to watch. The wait, the desperation and the wicked smile is unparalleled.

3. Ranvir Shorey - Titli

Ranvir Shorey was top-notchas the elder brother Vikram leading the family of muggers. By far, the career best performance of this very underrated actor is a must watch along with the amazing variations, struggles and brutality he brings to the character.

4. Randeep Hooda – Main Aur Charles

Randeep Hooda much like the last year in Highway, takes his viewers breath away with the portrayal of Charles Shobraj, a very stylish serial killer who kills not just by his smartness but his class act too.

5. Neeraj Kabi – Detective Byomkesh Bakshy

Neeraj Kabi is one of the most under-rated actors in B-town and he proves this again with a very credible portrayal of the doctor villain in the film DBB. His nuisances and expressions are just killers!

6. Kamlesh Sawant - Drishyam

There are times when small characters leave everlasting impressions. Kamlesh Sawant as an irrational, biased and mean Inspector in Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam was one such memorable character!

7. Darshan Kumar –NH10

Darshan Kumar is new in Bollywood but it doesn’t show in his performances. After playing a sweet husband in Mary Kom, he played a brutal and ruthless Khap villager for whom killing is not a big deal at all.

8. Rajkummar Rao–Hamari Adhuri Kahani

The only good part about the whole movie was Rajkummar Rao’s performance. He tried a dark shade character of a male chauvinist husband who can’t stand the fact that his wife doesn’t love him and did a very impressive job with it.

9. Ronit Roy – Guddu Rangeela

Apart from Mata Ka Email, what stood out in Guddu Rangeela was Ronit Roy’s villainous performance as a cold-hearted ‘son of bitch’ Khap leader. He literally makes you want to kick his ass hard!

10. Manoj Bajpayee - Tevar

Although a little repetitive for Manoj Bajpayee playing the Bihari babu/gunda but a delight to watch him onscreen with his quirky dialogues and a very assholic act.
