There have been a lot of movies based on the controversial cases in the books of history, but only a few films out of those stand out. One such film is ‘Talvar’, based on Aarushi Murder Case, the most talked case in the country in the recent times and is surely one the top films this year.

The story starts when CDI Inspector Ashwin Kumar (Irrfan Khan) is handed over one of the most controversial dual murder cases pertaining to Mr. and Mrs. Tandon (Konkana Sen Sharma and NeerajKabi) who are charged with the murder of their daughter Shruti (Ayesha Parveen) and their servant Khempal.Ashwin finds out that there have been a lot of discrepancies in the investigation done the police team led by Inspector Dhaniram (Gajraj Rao). Just when he’s almost about to crack the case, a new chief of the CDI is appointed which changes the whole equation and Inspector Ashwin is suspended off his duties. What happens next is the rest of the story!

It involves some magnificent performances, a very honest direction by MeghnaGulzar, but the real hero of the movie is the screenplay penned down by the maestro Vishal Bhardwaj! He makes up for a thrilling narrative with some wonderfully crafted dialogues. Even the treatment of the film by Meghnais real, sensitive to the case and very mature. The research and the way things have been detailed are fantastic to watch. The gripping background score and the superb editing also added to make this film even more engaging!

Irrfan Khan once again proves why people call him a veteran and maintains the tag of the most respectable actors through a remarkable journey of which his character undertakes. When he’s on screen, one just can’t take his eyes off. Even NeerajKabi and Konkana Sen Sharma portrayed the very complex characters of the Tandon parents very effectively. Atul Kumar, Soham Shah, Gajraj Rao or be it the Tabu in her cameo, all displayed great talent and memorable pieces of work.

In all , Talvar is a must watch in all aspects whether you talk in terms of film making, entertainment or in terms of urging people to think about what’s right and what’s not! Go, make your weekend worthwhile.
