After watching the film, the first question that comes to one’s mind is “Is this the same director who made OMG Oh My God?” Unfortunately it’s true. UmeshShukla who brought a revolutionary film in OMG, fails miserably with All Is Well and raises several questions about his film-making abilities. Veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Supriya Pathak Shah are wasted in this film. Abhishek Bachchan’s career is dipping fast and this movie of his will not make any changes to this fact whatsoever.

The film is based around the life of ahighly dysfunctional family comprising of Indar (Abhishek Bachchan), who is frustrated with his unsuccessful career as a singer and his father Mr.BhajanlalBhalla (Rishi Kapoor), a highly irritating father who suffers from a bladder problem and mother Pammi (Supriya Pathak Shah) who suffers from a disease calledAlzheimer. On top of all this, they are being chased by a local gangster called Cheema (Zeeshan Ayyub) for Mr. Bhalla took a loan from him, which was never repaid. Along the way, they meet Nimmi (Asin), Indar’s love interest and how things unfold, whether they’ll be able to repay the loan, whether problems will sort out among the family members is the rest of the story.

The film suffers majorly from that lack of logic and good film-making. The small details likes the costume continuity, the background of the character, the mood of the film, the film research, all these had been completely ignored by the director. The jokes and one-liners aren’t funny and timings of the actors are also not up to the best. The transitions are badly done and the editing is certainly not the best.

The biggest disaster of the film is its screenplay. The story moves in any direction whatsoever without making any sense. When you have a gangster chasing you, you definitely don’t go dancing in item songs and weddings instead of finding a solution to the problems at hand. Even the writers of the film have not done a good job as it felt aged and repetitive.

Talking about the performances, Abhishek Bachchan tried real hard but doesn’t get his comic timing right at all. He is clearly just shouting when arguing with his father and lacks the depth of the character. Rishi Kapoor was wasted by the director yet we see glimpse of his potential as BhajanlalBhalla. One feels sorry for Supriya Pathak Shah as the director doesn’t know what to do with her character. To an extent, the same goes for Asin. The best part was played by ZeeshanAyub as Cheema as he was able to carry of the bad writing and give us a few laughs.

In all, the film offers nothing new and it will only leave you with a headache if you would try watching it. So just skip it and go for Manjhi instead if you are looking for a good film this weekend.
