Vishwaroopam enters top 3 in the US Opening BO

Vishwaroopam has emerged as a big grosser in the US and Canada. As per the weekend estimates, Vishwaroopam collected a total of $659,000 (Rs.3.5 Crores) during the opening weekend from 84 screens in Tamil and Telugu. Vishwaroopam also ranked 25th in the North America Box Office and had the highest per screen average of $7,850 among all the movies screened during the weekend.

Vishwaroopam has entered top 3 opening weekend collections of all time in the US and Canada. Vishwaroopam's collection is less than half of top ranked grosser, Endhiran, which collected a total of $1,520,108 [~Rs. 6.81 crores] on 64 screens. Kamal's Vishwaroopam is touted to have surpassed his previous blockbuster Dasavatharam which was estimated to have collected roughly around $600,000 from Tamil and Telugu. Sivaji's box office collections are also estimated to be in the same range and the exact figures were not officially maintained by trade sources. The biggest grosser of 2012, Thuppakki, had collected $420,400 from 7-day Diwali week.

With Vishwaroopam proving to be a winner in international circuits, fans in India are eagerly waiting to watch the movie on big screen as soon as the court clears the movie for release.
