Will Mersal - Animal Welfare Board India meeting give NOC clearance for final censor?

For those catching up, team Mersal was asked by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to submit a no-objection certificate (NOC) issued through the Animal Welfare Board India (AWBI). After AWBI's refusal last week (as the team reportedly could not provide proper documents for the use of a pigeon, camel and horses), it was widely speculated that certain scenes involving animals would be chopped off and the final edit would be re-submitted to the AWBI for obtaining that NOC.

Earlier today, the crucial meeting that possibly holds the film's release fate was reported to have begun by industry insiders. Though an official confirmation of the NOC being issued is not out yet, fans and the film's promotions look all positive. The NOC clearance will be followed by the official censor and release date announcement.

Produced by Sri Thenandal Films, Mersal starrs Vijay in the lead and is directed by Atlee. The film has A.R. Rahman for the music and is expected to hit theatre screens for Diwali.
