Mersal to release in massive screen count in Tamil Nadu?

Earlier today, reports about Vijay starrer Mersal releasing in a record number of screens in Kerala was doing the rounds. The film which has obtained a whopping 350+ screens in Kerala beat Baahubali 2 which had released in over 306 screens. Following this, reports about Mersal's massive screen count in it's home-turf Tamil Nadu has emerged. According to trade sources, Mersal will be releasing in over 600 + screens.

Going by the numbers, looks like producers Sri Thenandal Films is leaving no stone un-turned to ensure maximum coverage as they are releasing the film themselves in most areas. Written and directed by Atlee, the film is the production house's 100th venture and has created high expectations collection-wise.
