‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ sequel confirmed

Mudassar Aziz’s ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’, which released in August last year, was a sleeper hit at the box office. The movie starred Abhay Deol, Diana Penty, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Sheirgill in the lead roles. After the film’s release there were reports of it having a sequel. However, now it has been confirmed that there will be a second instalment of the film.

DNA quote the film’s director Mudassar Aziz saying, “I was working on another story when the idea of a sequel to Happy struck me sometime last September. I discussed it with Rai Saab (Aanand L Rai) who suggested I work on it some more and see what comes out of it. By October-end, I had a story which he really liked.”

Although the romantic comedy didn’t quite set the box office on fire, it was highly appreciated by critics and fans alike.

Along with Abhay and Diana, the rest of the cast including Ali Fazal, Jimmy Shergill, and Piyush Mishra will also be seen in the sequel. Two new characters will also be introduced in the sequel.
