Vishwaroopam unlikely to release on October 12

Even though media has been repeatedly saying Vishwaroopam will release on October 12th, distributors and exhibitors have a different story to tell. The distributors are fairly certain that Vishwaroopam will not release on October 12th. The reasons quoted are two-fold.

One is because the Vishwaroopam rights have NOT been sold in any of the Tamil, Telugu or Hindi markets. There is still reportedly a wide gap between ask price and 'willing to pay' price. Secondly, it is well known that makers usually prefer the audio albums to release 6 weeks prior to release. Even though the Vishwaroopam's first copy and songs have been ready for more than 2 months, it is a surprise why Shankar Ehsaan Loy's album release announcement has not been made yet. 

The next available big date is Diwali, which is firmly booked by Thuppaki. The distributors clearly prefers ARM-Vijay combination over the experimental Vishwaroopam given the festival break. This may result in further pushing out Vishwaroopam to end of the year. The real question now is will we get to see Kamal in action before the beginning of the new year?
