Marking the 41st birthday of Tamil film music composer Santhosh Narayanan, it was officially announced on Wednesday, that the Sa Na, as he is fondly called in onboard actor Suriya's 44th film. Suriya 44 (tentative title) is a Karthik Subbaraj directorial, and the filmmaker has previously collaborated with Santhosh Narayanan on a number of projects.  

Suriya 44 marks the the eighth collaboration between Santhosh Narayanan and director Karthik Subbaraj after Jigarthanda DoubleX (2023), Mahaan (2022), Jagame Thandhiram (2021), Mercury (2018), Iraivi (2016), Jigarthanda (2014) and Pizza (2012). The film, announced in March this year is expected to begin shooting soon.

Suriya 44's promotional material have so far showcased a car crash, an arrow piercing through a tree, and the tagline, ‘Love, Laughter and War’. The movie is jointly produced by Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Films, and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment.
