Popular TV shows make a comeback for Coronavirus Lockdown!

Ever since the onset of Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, shooting of not only films but even TV shows and web-series across the world has come to a halt. Internationally, TV hosts are doing their bit contributing by shooting from home (e.g. Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, etc) and channels are surviving on re-runs of sitcoms; India's TV production seems to have taken a leaf from the latter.

Populars such as Shaktimaan which was a PAN-India-loved 90s show for kids made a return to TV on the Indian government run DD Channel and has been airing for an hour daily since April 2, 2020. Other popular series that have made a comeback to the DD network are Ramayana, Mahabharata, Circus (starring Shah Rukh Khan) and Byomkesh Bakshi.

Down South Vijay TV's Lollu Sabha starring the now popular comedian Santhanam has made a comeback along with the channel's other favourites - Kamal Haasan hosted Bigg Boss (re-runs) and  Saravanan Meenatchi (serial).

Sun TV's money spinners of the 90s i.e. serials like Chitti (Radhika), Metti Oli and Thangam are also up for re-telecasts on the Tamil channel.
