The 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI 50) kicked off in Goa on Wednesday and actor Rajinikanth who is being honoured with the 'Icon of Golden Jubilee' was seen inaugurating the event alongside Bollywood's Amitabh Bachchan.
Also seen at the event were prominent film personalities like Karan Johar, director Priyandarshan, Prasoon Joshi among others. While IFFI 50 will take place toll Novemeber 28, reports of an event honouring Rajinikanth back in Tamil Nadu is also doing the rounds.
According to the media, Tamil film producer Thanu is planning on hosting an event in honour of Rajinikanth's recent achievement, which is being awarded by the Central government. However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited.
