Taapsee Pannu gets into a twitter brawl over 'irresponsible journalism'

PUBLISHED DATE | 31/May/2018

In yet another episode of media reports and celebrity denials, actress Tapsee Pannu found herself calling out a media outlet for quoting a non-factual statement from a "source close to her". It started when reports of Tapsee refusing Nawazuddin Siddique's upcoming movie made headlines. The outlet had quoted a source (which they later claimed to be a PR from Tapsee's team) as saying, “Honey (Trehan, director of the movie) and Taapsee were in talks for the murder mystery, but the actress didn’t like the project. Apparently, she wasn’t too keen on being paired with Nawaz in the film, hence she refused the offer.”

Taapsee took no time to find out where this story had started and called out the media outlet for 'irresponsible journalism'. However the author of the said piece (which still stands unmodified) retorted that Taapsee should be dealing this with her PR Agency and not him for they were the ones who planted this story. While the actress found support in some people who were of the opinion that the media person should have contacted her directly before posting a statement that sent out a negative feeler, some believed that it was a simple judgement error. Nevertheless, the heated argument still stands available on twitter and there seemed to have been no apologies issued from anywhere.
