Maattrraan is a truly world class Film. Must Watch for Suriya and Story.

Maattrraan is centered around the conjoined twins, Vimalan and Akilan. But, that is just the tip of the iceberg. The plot is much bigger than the conjoined twins as it touches upon key contemporary international issues such as Genetic Modified Food(GMF), fictional account of its genesis dating back ...(more)

If you are looking at a time pass entertainer, walk into KV Anand's Maattrraan. It is a fun ride till interval and in the second half there is a neat message told with lot of cinematic liberties.

And at the end if you come away smiling, it's only because of Suriya's superb performance in a difficult double role. The best scenes are those involving him in the first half as the twins have a ball bickering and bonding. As the calm and cool Vimalan and the hyperkinetic Akilan , he carries the sh...(more)

Maattrraan delivers what it promises- a rich and stylish entertainer with an interesting story.

Definitely another box office bonanza for Suriya.

Siamese twins keep the audience entertained in the first half. The film takes a serious turn with lots of action scenes in the second part. The narration is excellent and the director never loses his grip either on the story or screenplay right from the beginning till the end.(more)

Maattraan has a great premise, great characters and actors who could have pulled off a complicated story. Sadly, the movie never capitalises on these strengths. (more)

Two sides of a coin, one up and one down

Maatraan is worth a watch for Suriya's acting and some great groundwork done by K.V.Anand. Harris Jeyaraj's songs look great on screen and are sure to be seen on TV frequently. The second half does a shabby job of wrapping things up, but it's still gives you an unique experience overall.(more)

Double the performance and double the fun

In Maattrraan, Anand and Subha attempt to warn us about the dangers of genetic engineering and interfering with nature, but a crisper capsule would have had a stronger effect. (more)
