A middling horror comedy
Director Ike's strong point is definitely comedy and with Soori in his elements the first half of SKBT is a definite winner. The jokes aren't new but they work.When capable comedians get their meter right it is always fun. There is a generous sprinkling of adult humour. The good thing is that it is not the usual tactic of rhyming words denoting reproductive or excretory organs but a running joke revolving around washing clothes in a washing machine. Here washing and washing machine do not denote what you are thinking unless you have seen the film. (more)

Watchable horror comedy
Director Ike's biggest strength is his comic writing, and the film is filled with genuine fun moments thanks to Soori, who is aptly supported by ace comedians including Thambi Ramaiah and Devadharshini. Though the story is predictable from the word go, few well-written comedy sequences provide enough entertainment. (more)

Open the door and walk in without hesitation for a fairly good pastime
The big plus of 'SBKT' is a mixture of adult and juvenile comedy that work in most of the places. The first half is also packed with thrills as the director keeps on teasing of a ghostly presence and only makes a reveal during the interval. On the downside, a sense of dejavu sets in as its once again a palatial bungalow and ghost routine. In the second half the team probably wanted to give every actor in the film a chance to get scared resulting in tedium for the viewer. The sentimental scenes too are not the heart touching variety and are purely functional(more)

Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae Movie Review
It is predictable fare, yes, and there isn't much inventiveness both in terms of narrative and filmmaking, but there is a quiet confidence in how Ike narrates this tale and keeps us entertained.(more)

Chills and laughs, this horror-comedy gives you both
The director, who has also written the script, has tried to give us the chills in small doses without scaring the hell out of the audience. And it is by far a very good movie in comparison to the last week's release, Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen, a lousy horror comedy. Ike's film is about a person learning family values from the dead. The film fails to work as a whole, it only entertains and spooks in parts. But, you won�t regret watching it.(more)
