Breezy masala.
This movie is a good breezy entertainer that makes you feel involved. The movie is an honest try at mass masala. It delivers on that, riding on the sincerity of Dhanush and the glamour and poise of Shreya. At the end of it all, you get a feeling of fun and satisfaction just the kind of feeling to ring the year down. Imman's music suits the movie very well with its good mix. (more)

Enjoyable, paisa-vasool.
Bhoopathy Pandian's Thiruvilaiyaadal Aarambam like a chocolate eclair, just melts in your mouth. Dhanush has undoubtedly made a fantastic comeback. Shriya looks amazing, Prakash Raj does his role to perfection and the supporting casts are well-etched out and have done their best. The film is racy and in a one word – Enjoyable! D.Imman has surprised us once again with some melodious songs. The background score and camera of S.Vaithi gives the film a rich look. (more)

An "enjoy yourself" movie.
The movie is an out and out entertainer; it can be safely categorized as a comedy, though romance too features prominently. Thiruvilaiyaadal Aarambam can be seen as Dhanush's comeback. Shreya's presence makes the movie very colorful. Prakash Raj does an excellent job (as usual). D.Imaan has done well with the music. The choreographers too have done a fair job. It has been well crafted with all the ingredients of a commercial potboiler. (more)
