All message and no movie

I rolled my eyes, but the people around me clapped every time a moral instruction erupted from Dayalan's lips. Clearly, there's still an audience that, after a century of cinema, is only interested in what is being said, not how is only content, not form. That may be this filmy's biggest message.(more)

A gutsy uncompromising effort from Samuthirakani which however would test your patience to sit through!

The film does not carry any unwanted songs. It only has one song which too comes in as a montage. Ilayaraaja�s music is very functional and sounds pretty similar to his recent works. Some good lessons for fathers and all of us

As usual in Samuthirakani�s films, dialogue is one of the biggest pluses in this film too, but some of them sound like they would have been better if written as text rather than spoken by normal people.(more)

Appa is upgraded version of "Sattai" the only difference is Thambi Ramaiah is not a villain here, but still he was shown as a bad example of parenting.
