MovieCrow Box Office Report - May 8 to 10

Vijay Antony's India Pakistan had released last weekend, and surprisingly, the buzz level for the movie was low, even though his last two films were sleeper hits. Uttama Villain and Kanchana 2 continued to rule the screens across the city. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Uttama Villain

In spite of few business related issues, Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain was the first choice for movie-goers last weekend. Touted as a perfect tribute to legendary director K Balachander, Kamal's stellar performance has been attracting the crowd.

2. Kanchana 2

Kanchana 2 has emerged as one of the most pleasing movies for the masses in the recent past. The movie registered housefull shows even in its 4th weekend.

3. India Pakistan

Vijay Antony's first attempt at doing a full-fledged comedy film has earned mixed reviews from the audience. Best known for his subtle performances in serious film, many critics and fans believe that he is more suitable in such roles.

Other Movies

Vai Raja Vai lost some of its screens to India Pakistan, and the occupancy levels had also dropped since the first weekend. OK Kanmani was attracting multiplex audience, and it is expected to run for a few more weeks in the multiplexes.

Upcoming week's releases

Jyothika's comeback film, 36 Vayadhinile will hit the screens on May 15, along with SP Jananathan's multi-starrer Purampokku.
