Breaking: Rajinikanth reaches out to commercial directors for a quickie 

Shankar-Rajinikanth combination is expected to take off in early 2016. In the meantime, Rajinikanth has decided to act in a quickie before he teams up with Shankar for a mega budget movie. Rajinikanth has reached out to directors who had given hits recently including AR Murugadoss, KV Anand, Pa. Ranjith, Lawrence Raghavendra, Sundar C and Hari. Rajinikanth will give his nod to the director with a good script and able to complete the movie by the end of this year.

Will Attakathi Ranjith direct Rajinikanth?

Pa. Ranjith of Madras and Attakathi fame is rumoured to have bagged the opportunity. The producer for this quickie is expected to be Kalaipuli S Thanu. The budget is expected to be Rs. 85 Crores. After Kanchana-2's success, Lawrence Raghavendhra emerged as a strong contender until Lawrence gave a budget of Rs.125 Crores rejected by Dhanu.

Rajinikanth is cautious after recent debacles at the box office. We will have to wait and see who bags the opportunity to direct the Superstar for a quickie prior to Shankar's mega budget project next year.
