High Court dismisses petition against Uttama Villan


The Madras High Court dismissed a petition by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) against Uttama Villan. Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), had sought to restrain the film’s screening, contending that a word in one of the songs hurt the sentiments of Hindus.

 

Justice T. Raja said that the court found “no error” in film as claimed by the petitioner. As the court was not able to find any merit in the writ petition, it dismissed the plea.

 

It is to be noted that Uttama Villan has been given a ‘U’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The movie will hit the screens on May 1. Uttama villain stars Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea, Parvathy Nair, Urvashi and Naasar in the lead roles. The movie is directed by Ramesh Aravind. Music is by Ghibran. The movie is jointly produced by Thirupathi brothers and RajKamal International.
