MovieCrow Box Office Report - April 10 to 12

Simhaa's Chennai Ungalai Anbudan Varaverkiradhu released last weekend across limited screens without any buzz. The buzz level was so low that many leading movie portals did not even review the movie. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Komban

Karthi's Komban retained most of the screens from the first weekend, thanks to positive buzz and no real competition. It would be interesting to see how Komban holds up in the upcoming weekend as there are two films due for release.

2. Nanbenda

Most of the multiplexes shifted Nanbenda to their smaller screens, due to dwindling support for the movie. Udhayanidhi might have to explore more genres to prove his critics wrong.

Other Movies

It looks like the makers of Chennai Ungalai Anbudan Varaverkiradhu had no hopes on the movie, as the promotions were almost absent and their attempt to cash in on the 'Simhaa' brand also failed. In spite of Anegan's world television premiere tomorrow, the movie was running across a few screens, along with Rajathandhiram, I and Kaaki Sattai. As expected, Sagaptham vanished from all the screens after a week.

Upcoming week's releases

Mani Ratnam's OK Kanmani and Raghava Lawrence's Kanchana 2 will be hitting the screens on April 17.
