MovieCrow Box Office Report - March 6 to 8

Siddharth's Enakkul Oruvan, remake of Kannada blockbuster film Lucia, had hit the screens last weekend. Another noteworthy release was Karthik Subbaraj's Bench Talkies, which featured 6 short films as a feature film. Check out the box office rankings of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Kakki Sattai

There is no stopping Sivakarthikeyan's Kakki Sattai in spite of the mixed reviews and the movie was screened across maximum number of theatres. This could turn out to be yet another 'Hit' for Sivakarthikeyan.

2. Enakkul Oruvan

Siddharth's swashbuckling performance has been receiving accolades from all quarters and the movie opened to fairly positive reviews. People who haven't watched the original are appreciating the film more.

3. Anegan

Dhanush's Anegan was enjoying its good run in its third weekend, thanks to the high buzz level. Into its 25th day at the box office today, the movie is one of the biggest hits in Dhanush's career.

Other Movies

Tamiluku En Ondrai Aluthavum had good occupancy levels across multiplexes, while Yennai Arindhaal and I were running across a handful of screens. Karthik Subbaraj's Bench Talkies had a very limited release across couple of multiplexes, but the initiative of revenue generation for short films is being widely appreciated.

Upcoming week's releases

More than half a dozen films including Rajathandhiram, Katham Katham and Vaanavil Vaazhkai will be battling for screens on March 13!
