Tamil Industry annoyed by Yennai Arindhaal delays

Yennai Arindhaal Delays Concern Tamil Industry

The repeated delays of Ajith Kumar and Gautham Menon's Yennai Arindhaal is now the source of concern among film makers, distributors and exhibitors in Tamil industry. A long list of finished movies are unable to decide on the release date due to poor planning and indecisiveness of Yennai Arindhaal production team complained a small budget movie maker, who has been struggling to find screens.

Repeated Delays of Yennai Arindhaal

Initially, Yennai Arindhaal brashly announced the release on Pongal well before the shooting was completed. Yennai Arindhaal subsequently changed the released date to January 29 and again to Feb 5th due to multiple delays in completing the post-production and re-recording work.

Last week, Yennai Arindhaal received a U/A certificate. Yennai Arindhaal censored version is almost close to 3 hours. Director Gautham Menon is working on trimming the movie by 20 minutes to make it racy and crisp. They are now contemplating to re-apply to revision committee seeking a U certificate.

The exhibitors are anticipating if Anegan and Kaaki Sattai release as expected, this will create a stampede due to back-to-back releases minimizing the combined revenue. However, the delay has been a boon for "Ai" and other Pongal releases which will get one more additional week of unobstructed run.
