Happy New Year breaks Chennai Express's record

Happy New Year which hit the screens on October 24 has been doing good business ever since its release. The film has earned Rs. 157.57 crs after the first week of release. HNY established a new record at the Box Office for opening day and opening weekend.

Highest Opening Day

Happy New Year broke the record of Dhoom 3 and became the highest opening day grosser. The film has collected Rs. 44.97 crore in the opening day. Earlier Dhoom 3 starring Aamir Khan has remained in the top position with highest opening day income of Rs. 36.22 crore.

Highest Opening Weekend

Happy New Year has once again broken the record of Dhoom 3 and has raked in more than 100 crores in the opening weekend itself. Happy New Year has earned Rs. 108. 86 crore during the opening weekend while Dhoom 3 had collected Rs. 107.61. Happy New Year has now emerged as the highest opening weekend grosser of Bollywood.

Chennai Express had collected 156.60 crores at the Box Office at the end of its first week. SRK has broken his own record beating Chennai Express Collections. HNY has collected Rs. 157.57 crs at the end of Week 1. However Aamir's Dhoom 3 is at the top position with a total collection of Rs 188.98 cr in its first week.
