Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani is set to hit the screens on August 22. The film has been censored with an 'A' certificate.

 

Over the years, Yash Raj Films has mostly been synonymous with making family entertainers.  It comes as a surprise then that their upcoming film, ‘Mardaani’, becomes the first film to get an A certificate from censor board. 

 

The film deals with child-traficking and prostitution, that is why the film has been granted an adult certificate with a few cuts. The few cuts in the film include nude scenes and abusive language.

 

Rani Mukerji is playing a tough cop Shivani Shivaji Roy who is fearless in confronting hardened criminals. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film will release worldwide on 22nd August 2014.
