Velai Illa Pattathari Takes Box Office By Storm

Dhanush's Velai Illa Pattathari directed by Velraj hit the screens on July 18.The film has been getting rave reviews from all quarters since its release.  The film has got a very good opening and is doing solid business at the Box Office. According to trade sources, the film has earned around 12 crores in the opening weekend in TN Box Office.

Third highest in 2014 VIP next to Veeram and Jilla

The film has collected around 5.03 crores on the opening day. The film had the third highest Opening Day collection of 2014. It stands in the third position next to Veeram and Jilla. VIP has surpassed the collections of Kochadaiyaan on Day 1.

Dhanush in the league of Ajith,Vijay and Suriya

Vip had a solid start at USA. For the opening weekend the movie has collected $203,000 in 31 theaters. This is phenomenal opening for Dhanush, which takes him into the league of Vijay, Ajith and Suriya.This is second highest collection in USA for a Tamil movie in its opening weekend for 2014. Previously Veeram has collected $201,101 and Jilla collected $192,858 in the opening weekend. Still Kochadaiyaan's number in USA is unbeaten; Kochadaiyaan has collected $436,165 in its opening weekend.

VIP has made it to the top 20 list in Australia Box Office. The movie had collected $45,343 and stands next to Kochadaiyaan and Veeram. It has collected more than Jilla in its opening weekend.

The movie is expected to have a rock steady business at the Box Office in the coming weeks. Sathuranga Vettai which released last week has taken the back seat despite getting positive reviews and good word of mouth due to the storm created by VIP.
