Producers clear the air on Kaththi controversy


 

While the shooting of Vijay's Kaththi has been progressing smoothly, the media was abuzz with reports that the film had run into yet another controversy.

 

Vijay's Kaththi is produced by Ayngaran International and Lyca Productions. It was being alleged that the owner of Lyca Productions Subashkaran Alliraj is close to the Sri Lankan president Rajapakshe and his mobile company has availed many business contracts in Sri Lanka with the influence of the Sri Lankan president.  This has not gone well with some Tamil fringe groups.

 

The makers of the film have now officially issued a press release to clear the air on the controversy surrounding the film. The statement says that the production house Lyca Productions has no connections with the Srilankan Government and the allegations made against them is not true. Lyca Productions, through their foundation, has been helping Tamils in Sri Lanka affected by the civil war. 

 

The film shooting is currently happening in Chennai from April 7. The schedule will last for 40 days. The team has planned to shoot the film in North India and abroad as well. The entire film shoot will be wrapped by August and the film will hit the screens for Diwali. 

 

Vijay and Samantha play the lead roles. Neil Nithin Mukesh, Sathish, Tota Roy Choudary play supporting cast. Music by Anirudh. Camera is handled by George Williams, Art director Lalgudi Ilayaraja and editing by Sreekar Prasad. The producer has confirmed that Vijay is essaying dual roles in the film.
