Naan Sigapppu Manithan Preview – SWOT Analysis

After making his debut with run-of-the-mill entertainer ‘Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai’, director Thiru surprised the audience with his suspense thriller ‘Samar’. Now, he is back with yet another interesting film ‘Naan Sigappu Manithan’ with his favourite actor Vishal in the lead.

Strengths

  • Director Thiru has earned a niche fan following with ‘Samar’ and he has dealt with an interesting concept called ‘Narcolepsy’ (sleeping disorder) in this film. The makers of the film have prepared the audience well by creating awareness about this rare disorder called 'Narcolepsy’ with their interesting teasers and trailers. Director Thiru's confidence is evident in trailers.
  • Vishal is back after a super hit ‘Pandiya Nadu’. Also, the successful combination of Vishal and Lakshmi Menon are back together. Lakshmi Menon has brought out great chemistry with all her heroes in her past movies. This movie will be no exception.
  • The movie boasts of rich technical values, thanks to cinematographer Richard M Nathan, music director GV Prakash Kumar and slick editing witnessed in trailers.

Weakness

  • The close-up stills of lip-lock were blown out of proportion in media, literally. Hope it doesn't keep the family audience away during the opening week. The makers have done their part in stressing that the scene has been aesthetically shot. Also, the "U/A" certification may also take a bite out of the collection.

Opportunities

  • Jointly produced by Vishal and UTV Motion Pictures, the movie will be a solo release on April 11th and will also have the advantage of extended weekend (due to Tamil New year’s day on April 14th) and summer holidays.
  • Vishal needs to keep his success streak going. After many of his recent films receiving mixed reviews and box-office reports, his last film ‘Pandiya Nadu’ was a clear hit.

Threat

  • With general elections around the corner, people’s focus and mind share may shift to politics. The audience will not be reluctant to watch a movie if the initial reviews are off to a flying start.

Final Words

Lending its title from Superstar’s yesteryear classic hit, ‘Naan Sigappu Manithan’ promises to be a different entertainer, due to its interesting premise. Watch out  for our review on Friday!
