Breaking Insider News - Rajni and Shankar in discussion for Endhiran-2

We had earlier reported that Rajni and Shankar were discussing one-liner scripts. With Rajni's "Kochadaiiyan" and Shankar's "Ai" close to finalizing the date of release, two of the biggest forces in the Tamil industry have been reportedly meeting regularly to discuss the script, budget and finalize the producer.

Last week, Rajni took Shankar along with him to Kalpathi Agoram(AGS)'s office to discuss script and budget details of the project. Based on Rajni's contract agreement with Eros International, it is expected that the product house will be involved from a distribution capacity.

Endhiran-2

After thinking through a number of one-liners, it is reported that Shankar has now honed in on Endhiran-2 script for Rajini which literally picks up the pieces from where the first part left off. Due to the current trend in sequels, this has got everybody associated with the project excited by the tremendous business potential.

Endhiran-2 will require 200 Crore budget

The conversation swiftly moved to the estimated budget required for this project. With Rajni's compensation fixed at Rs. 50 Crores and Shankar's salary at almost half of Rajni's, the entire budget of the movie that Shankar conservatively estimated was a grand total of Rs.200 Crores.

Given the way, the Tamil industry has been performing of late, AGS has taken close note of this information and has gone back to the drawing board to see whether this project at such humongous scale is even marketable. Another wildcard in this equation is the box office result of "Kochadaiiyan" and "Ai" which will play a key role in determining whether Endhiran-2 at such massive scale is feasible.

Endhiran-2 talks still in early stages

No official announcement is expected to be made until the distribution rights of Kochadaiyan are completed. There are a number of discussions happening between Shankar, Rajni and other producers regarding the budget and feasibility. We are expecting an official announcement regarding Rajni's next project prior to the release date of Kochadaiiyan.
