In Theatres (Nov 11 2011)

A number of movies from other languages invaded Chennai theatres this weekend. Adventures of TinTin is well received so far and has been the favorite. Rockstar is riding on AR Rahman and Ranbir's popularity in the city. But, the mixed reviews are already starting to affect Rockstar. Oh My Friend, starring Shruthi and Siddharth, has found small pockets of interests. 

7aum Arivu and Velayutham are showing normal week-over-week decline. 7aum Arivu still has more screens and shows/day than Velayutham in Chennai, Bangalore, Malaysia and the US. In terms of Box Office status, Velayutham recovered the money for all the investors and is termed Profitable venture as of last week. It may take another week for 7aum Arivu to break-even. The additional tax imposed by TN Government has delayed the recovery time by up to a week for these Diwali movies.

All 3 new Tamil movies released this weekend are non-starters. Vedi and Engeyum Eppodhum were removed from all theatres this weekend.
