Actor Arjun has confirmed that he is part of Maniratnam's next movie tentatively titled 'Pookadai'.The actor has also confirmed that he is not doing a negative role.This will be Maniratnam's straight Tamil movie after Kannathil Muthamittal.The other actors include yesteryear actor Karthik's son Gautham, Parthiban's daughter Keerthana and actress Radha's younger daughter Thulasi.

The Movie is based on a story written by Jeyamohan with Rameshwaram as the backdrop and it deals with the lives of fishermen there along with a beautiful love story. Rajiv Menon is the Cinematographer and music is by A.R.Rahman.
